Career Introduction

R&D on Biomedicine

Duties

  • To conduct animal test, animal cell culture, and clinical and non-clinical R&D, develop cells, analysis method, and patents, monitor production process, and prepare permission documents. The duties may differ depending on characteristics of the institute (company)
  • The duties differ a lot depending on each biomedicine field. The duties include use of gene manipulation technology, cell culture technology, and culture, proliferation, and sorting of autologous, allogenic, and hetero cells.

Management of Biomedicine

Duties

  • To check manufacturing and management process, ensure compliance with drug manufacturing and quality control standards, and manage overall drug production steps in compliance with regulated procedures.
  • To clarify responsibility for maintenance of drug quality, report any violence, and review and record related matters

Future Prospects

  • The growth of bioindustry and strengthening of drug manufacturing and quality control standards are expected to result in higher demands.

R&D on Food Science and Biotechnology

Duties

  • To research on biotechnology-related theories and applications to explore various complicated biological phenomenon
  • To analyze marketability, purpose, function, and design plan to make food production and consumption plans and use ion separation, chromatographic separation, mechanical separation, chemical separation, etc., for separation methods
  • To conduct sensory test, property test, storability test, microorganism test, and pollution test and apply improvement points. To research on process improvement and simplify process efficiently to reduce cost.

Management of Food Manufacturing and Processing

Duties

  • To develop improved methods and technologies for food processing, standardization, production and packaging, and quality control to produce resesarched products, instruct production line workers at site, and supervise manufacturing process.

Future Prospects

  • Increasing demand for senior food and increasing global interest for Korean food are expected to result in employment increase
